Frequently Asked Questions
-
For new patients, the first session starts with a consultation with our Clinic Director. They will listen to your problems, and check your body for injuries. During the session, you will define goals that you want to work on, and the Clinic Director will create a Treatment Plan. The session finishes with some light treatment and exercises.
For existing patients, a typical session consists of Manual Therapy and Movement with your physiotherapist. The split between these two components varies depending on which stage of your treatment journey you are in.
-
Manual Therapy is a hands on treatment approach used by physiotherapists. At Akeso, our proprietary method uses a blend of Australian-based techniques such as massage, myofascial release, joint mobilisations and assisted stretching.
-
Our Clinic Directors each have 10+ years in the industry, with years of training under Akeso’s founder, Brett Money. Our targeted training approach hones the physiotherapists’ clinical reasoning skills and diagnostic capabilities. This ensures that Akeso can always problem solve our way to figuring out your injury.

It depends - if you need a doctor referral for insurance purposes, please see a doctor first before making your appointment.
However, if you are simply looking for an opinion, or for someone to treat you problem, you are welcome to make an appointment with us directly. Our Clinic Directors are primary practitioners and are capable in providing a diagnosis and treatment plan.
